Sarah Levandowski of Texas to Represent the USA at Miss Teen Earth International

Washington, D.C. – Sarah Levandowski of Texas has been named Teen Miss Earth United States 2016 during final ceremonies on August 2 at the Synetic Theater of Arlington, Virginia. Levandowski will travel to Panama City in the fall to compete at the Miss Teen Earth International pageant.

At age 16 and 5’10”, Levandowski is a high school junior in El Paso, Texas, where she excels in cross country and track. She intends to study Literature to enter a career in journalism or marketing.

 

Levandowski won her state pageant in August 2015. Daughter of Donna Rock and Dale Levandowski, the family was notified following the crowning that the opportunity to compete internationally had been extended to the organizers.

 

“I am so thankful and honored to represent this organization at a national and international level,” said Levandowski. “I can't wait for all the amazing opportunities this year will bring.”

 

The 5th Annual Miss Teen Earth International pageant will be held October 1st in Panama City. Managed by Rodrigo Moreira, the organization is recognized as the most important pageant for teenagers around the world. Delegates advocate for environmental awareness and protection of the Earth. 2015 winner is Daniela Cepeda of Ecuador. The crown is created by a prestigious Venezuelan designer and is valued at $10,000.

 

The national competition included interview, photogenic, swimwear, runway and evening gown. State delegates participated in events in the nation’s capital from July 29 through August 2, including a visit to the Lincoln Memorial and being presented on stage at the finals of Miss Earth United States.

 

First runner up was Miranda Pospisil of Nebraska, second runner up Leslie Jackson of Virginia, and third runner up Hailee Beemer of Missouri. Levandowski was crowned by 2015 Teen Miss Earth United States Alyssa Klinzing of Kansas.

 

Pageant judges included Miss USA 2002 Shauntay Hinton, Ms Virginia United States 2014 Jocelyn Riebe, and Miss Asian American 2013 Emily Giovinazzo. Finale show host was popular national media representative Steven Roddy of the Pageant Planet.

 

The national director of Miss Earth United States and its supporting divisions of Elite, Teen and Junior is Laura Clark, owner of US Earth Productions, Inc. in Washington, DC.
