With nearly 350,000 daily viewers, The Pageant Planet is recognized as the industry's largest pageant resource. Each January, TPP releases various rankings that are compiled through public nomination and expert evaluation.

"The year of 2016 feels like the year of pageantry around the world," said TPP Columnist Alexandria Kelly. "Titleholders are receiving more opportunities for charity work, appearances and job opportunities around the world."

The Pageant Planet ranked Miss Earth, Miss World and Miss Universe as the three top international pageants. Now entering its 17th year, Miss Earth promotes environmental awareness. With nearly 100 candidates each year, Miss Earth helps contestants and titleholders set a legacy of beauty and responsibility. The 2016 Miss Earth final coronation named Ecuador's Katherine Espin as the winner, viewed by millions live from the Philippines.

Considering the hundreds of pageants based in the USA, The Pageant Planet ranked Miss Earth United States to its Top 10 list of best national pageants. Miss America and Miss USA also made this year's ranking.

"Often it’s the national pageant that gives it its reputation," said TPP Columnist Mary Harrison. "Miss Earth United States pageant got a revamp in 2016 with a new national director, Laura Clark."

Welcoming 46 state representatives to the national stage in Washington, DC on August 1, the crowning of 2016 Miss Earth United States Corrin Stellakis has been seen by over one million viewers. Stellakis went on to rank in the Top 8 at Miss Earth 2016. USA has finished in the Top 4 the previous two years.

"Making The Pageant Planet's annual ranking was definitely one of our goals in 2016, and we really appreciate the validation of our team's hard work," said Clark. "We are committed to offering America's young women a trustworthy, fun, professional environment where titleholders are given a voice for change."

In addition to advancing the winner of Miss Earth United States to the top-ranking Miss Earth pageant, competition divisions are offered for Junior, Teen and Elite up to age 34. The winner of Teen Miss Earth United States also competes internationally, with this year's national Teen Sarah Levandowski winning Miss Teen Earth International 2016 in Panama. Program participation begins at the state and sometimes local level.
