Carousel Productions Inc, producers of the Miss Earth Pageant, officially made the announcement on March 8th, shortly after the current Miss Earth Fire Bruna Zanardo resigned. The Brazilian beauty resigned so she can be eligible to compete for the title of Miss Brazil Universe.

Stellakis, a nineteen-year-old pageant coach and fitness trainer, was officially crowned Miss Earth Fire at the Miss DC/MD/VA Earth United States pageant at the Crystal City Marriott in D.C. on April 24th.

Miss Earth United States Air Mae-Ann Webb (national first runner up) now assumes the position as Miss Earth United States.

The newly crowned Miss Earth United States shared her excitement on Facebook by quoting poet Gail Devers, “Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe. With Corrin Stellakis being named to the Earth Elemental Court (Miss Earth Fire), I officially took on the prestigious title of Miss Earth United States 2016 this weekend in Washington, D.C.”

"We are grateful to showcase the passion and talents of both of these beautiful women," said Laura Clark, National Director of Miss Earth United States, who acquired the franchise in January 2016. "We celebrate the major achievements of Corrin and Mae-Ann and look forward to providing more opportunities to our entire national elemental court in the same fashion as Miss Earth."

The 2017 Miss Earth United States Pageant presented by Earth Water will take place on August 5 in Washington, DC and air via livestream as well as on Dish Network’s B4UTV channel 712. The pageant's winner will represent the United States in the Philippines at the 17th annual Miss Earth pageant this October.

Ranked as a top three international pageant, Miss Earth focuses on empowering women to be voice for environmental protection. The Miss Earth pageant is one of the most watched pageants in the world, and last summer's Miss Earth United States coronation was viewed by over one million people.
