Dish Network to Broadcast 2017 Miss Earth United States, filmed August 5 in DC 

 

Washington, D.C. - The 2017 Miss Earth United States Pageant will broadcast on the Dish Network, filmed on Saturday, August 5 at at the Schlesinger Concert Hall in Washington, D.C. The winner will advance to the 17th annual Miss Earth in the fall.

 

50 American women ages 18-26 will take the stage with the chance to win the coveted title and travel to the Miss Earth competition in October. Delegates spend five days in the nation's capital with several shows and events open to the public from August 2-6. Tickets will go on sale Earth Day Weekend.

Presenting sponsor is EarthWater. Broadcast sponsor is B4UTV Channel 712 on the Dish Network. Show hosts are Steven Roddy of The Pageant Planet and Brittany Ann Payne, 2015 Miss Earth Water.

Miss Earth is an international organization that raises awareness for environmental concerns and is recognized as a Top 3 pageant. Televised globally, nearly 100 countries send a representative each year with the chance to become Miss Earth.

 

The United States representative will be selected based on a variety of areas including photogenic, public speaking, interview, social media, community video, runway, swimwear, and evening gown.

For three consecutive years, United States representatives have ranked in the Top 4 internationally at Miss Earth. Most recently, Corrin Stellakis of New York, crowned Miss Earth United States in summer 2016, earned the third runner up placement and was named Miss Earth Fire. 

 

Since January 2016, Miss Earth announced the USA program was under new direction. The program added three supporting divisions: Elite Miss age 26-34, Teen Miss age 14-19, and Junior Miss age 11-14. Elite Miss & Teen Miss national winners also compete at international competitions.
