Corrin Stellakis of New York to Represent USA at Miss Earth 2016

Washington, D.C. – Corrin Stellakis of New York has been named Miss Earth United States 2016 during final ceremonies on August 1 at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center in Alexandria, Virginia.

Age 18, Stellakis attends the State University of New York in Oswego, where she studies social interaction and psychology. She has previously competed at Miss Teen USA in 2014 and Miss World America in 2015.
Managed by Carousel Productions of the Philippines, Miss Earth focuses on empowering women through fashion, leadership, travel and service opportunities. Delegates advocate for environmental awareness and protection of the Earth while showcasing various tourist destinations. On December 4, Angelia Ong was crowned Miss Earth at the Crystal Anniversary 15th Annual Coronation in Vienna, Austria. 2015’s USA representative Brittany Ann Payne also placed in the Top 4.
Stellakis will attend Miss Earth 2016 for over three weeks in September and October. Nearly 100 national delegates will participate at a yet-to-be-announced international location. During her first couple of months, Stellakis will travel extensively in the United States to model for brands such as Mac Duggal and Pixton Design, as well as support environmental campaigns for organizations including Climate Reality and World Missions Outreach.
The national competition included categories such as interview, multimedia, public speaking, swimwear, runway and evening gown. 46 delegates competed at events in the nation’s capital and surrounding regions.
First runner up was Mae-Ann Webb of South Carolina, second runner up Devin Boyd of Louisiana and third runner up Kesha Clark of Texas. The national director of Miss Earth United States is Laura Clark, owner of US Earth Productions, Inc. in Washington, DC.
Special guests and judges included Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong and Miss Earth 2013 Alyz Henrich, as well as current and past titleholders from Brazil, Pakistan and England. Judges included Miss America 2011 Teresa Scanlan and Miss USA 2002 Shauntay Hinton. Hosts were popular national media representatives Steven Roddy of the Pageant Planet and Zoe Torres of Univision.
